Flow: 451
Water Temp: 52-58
What the future holds…
Flows Tuesday the 10th will fluctuate wildly
beginning early as 7:00 a.m. near the lake. SDS plans to conduct tests starting
at 7 a.m. and will gradually ramp up water flows starting at 500 cfs and
peaking at about 1,105 cfs at midday. The test is expected to be concluded by 5
p.m.
The incremental
increases on Tuesday have been arranged in communication with fishing and
recreational representatives in order to provide a safer environment for
anglers, and to protect aquatic life habitat and recreational interests.
Please note that safety signage will be posted at parking lots and other
access points along the Arkansas River. For more information, please call (855)
737-4968.
In the meantime
we are preparing for our favorite day of the year, the beginning of winter
water storage on the 15th. The lake appears to be turning over and
clarity has been good during the brief periods under 200. We can’t wait to see
how the river has changed and how the trout will adapt.
The weekend
fishing was technical but there is always something you can do here in Pueblo.
We worked some of the lower stretches below City Park and while numbers were
fair sizing was low, but that can be typical for this time of year. So there is
always the Pueblo hat trick, Bass trout and carp at the Riverwalk. BH hares
ears and scuds give the fish something to see in this poor clarity. Great days
are just ahead.
Tight lines,
Ben
