Water Temp: 50-56
Fishing is picking up on the tailwater. BWO hatches are
picking up speed and a few caddis are emerging here and there. We’ve had a busy
few weeks plagued by wind and cold snaps and I apologize for not getting out
this report sooner. This week was a welcome relief with warm sunny skies on the
same days we have guests. The Spawn is in full gear taking a number of the big trout
out of the mix but it’s fun to see them. Above and below trout are suspended in
2-3 feet of water and sight fishing is great. An orange stimmy with a loop wing
BWO dropper can provide for great days. Carrying two rods is important this time
of year enabling you to switch tactics fast.
I finally had a few afternoons to do some fishing with
friends in the afternoons and with another 16 left trips to go in April I’m
happy to pump a rod and watch for the white flash as a trout takes a shallow
nymphed bug.
Thanks Rick & Will, Marc & Robert, Karlee
& Joshua, Laura & Ed, Brian, Larry, Jeff, Matt, Frank & Denise for
great days out on the water.
The Evil G.
